Sounding Decolonial Futures: Decentering Ethnomusicology's Colonialist Legacies

Zeisberg 14 “The Lake Sheen” (Ojibway)

The source for this arrangement is Frederick Russell Burton's arrangement titled "The Lake Sheen," published in American Primitive Music, with Especial Attention to the Songs of the Objiways, where Burton provides two different arrangements; one for voice and piano, and another for SATB choir (1909: I.,96, 99-100, 208  II., 37, 59). Zeisberg borrows the melodic and harmonic framework, but does not engage with the text.
