F. Oberlin's death in 1826, young women in his parish made small memorial booklets with illustrations in watercolors of their villages and Oberlin's grave at Fouday. This one is heart-shaped, with folded paper that unfolds to reveal the illustrations. They were gifted to Oberlin's friends and admirers.
