This photo of Oberlin's grave at Fouday was taken in 1998, photographer unknown. The iron cross at the head of his tombstone reads "Papa Oberlin."
Tracy Strong, graduate of the Class of 1937, visited in 2004 just after the Oberlin Museum in Waldersbach had been renovated. This was the former home of J. F. Oberlin. The museum's garden in the snapshot in the header and below is a replication of Oberlin's horticultural experiments to find food-producing plant specimens suited to the region's harsh conditions.
Our most recent, digital photographs of Oberlin's region were taken in 2013 by Susan Phillips, Class of 1976. Below is her image of a view in Waldersbach, looking down with the Oberlin Museum's experimental gardens in the foreground.
